Behind the perfume
Over the past few years in Amsterdam, I found myself bringing fresh tulips into my home again and again.
For a long time, I believed tulips had no scent. Until one day, I came across a bouquet that carried a soft, unexpected fragrance. It changed the way I experienced the flower.
From that moment, it became an obsession. I started paying attention, noticing the subtle differences, the quiet presence of something I had overlooked before.
One variety stood out. Angelique. It carried a gentle sweetness that felt familiar in a different way. The name stayed with me, my mother’s name, and the origin of my own.
At the same time, I’ve never been drawn to traditional powdery florals. They feel distant from me.
With Tulip Skin, I wanted to approach the flower differently. Not as a classic floral, but as a texture. Smooth, slightly waxed, close to the surface.
Tulip Skin is about rediscovery. A familiar flower, seen and felt in a new way.
