Design, for me, is a journey between places, memories and moments. Our new arch door label is shaped by that journey, inspired by Curaçao where I come from and Amsterdam where I now live, work and love.
In Curaçao, the pastel colonial buildings with their curved arch doors have always fascinated me. They are strong yet inviting, protecting what’s inside while welcoming you to step through. In Amsterdam, I find a similar story in the canal houses. Their tall façades, crowned with graceful arches, carry a sense of heritage, elegance and timeless design. Two very different places, yet united by this same shape: the arch as a threshold.
“The arch door reminds me of Curaçao and Amsterdam. Just like perfume, it is both a doorway to memory and an invitation to create new ones.”
— Marcus Elizabeth
Perfume carries that same symbolism. A fragrance is not only a doorway back into memory, the warmth of a person or the atmosphere of a place, but also an invitation to create new ones. Each scent holds both past and future, just as every door opens from where you have been toward where you are going.
By placing the arch door on our label, I wanted to honor these inspirations and my own path between them. It is a reminder of the doors I have walked through, and a symbol of the doors fragrance can open for you: to memory, to beauty, to new beginnings.
This design is not only aesthetic. It is an invitation to step through, to explore and to let scent become the doorway to your own story.
With love,
Marcus
